The German company Strum's cylinder bore thermal spraying device allows for the selection of either wire or powder as the thermal spray material. The specifications of the equipment also change depending on the thermal spray material used. A cylinder inspector made by STURM is installed in the machine, which records the surface roughness, coating defects, and surface characteristics of the cylinder before and after spraying. There is also an inline measurement device (independent or included with the wire thermal spraying process).
